I was not sure what to expect when I ordered this item. I was pleasantly surprised that it was larger than I had imagined, as some of Haba's wooden toys are not to scale and on the minature side. This chicken is well made and the fabric is a soft velour. The best part is that the legs and wings are velcroed and can come apart, which can teach my child about fractions. The velcro is also quite strong so the legs and wings are firmly attached. The legs are a sturdy plastic. While this product is designed in Germany, it is made in China. Overall, I would recommend this product.

My daughter really enjoys making chicken in her kitchen with this larger sized, soft chicken. The fact that it comes apart is really the key. I do think it's a bit overpriced, which is the only reason it gets 4 stars. Otherwise it's a 5 star product all the way!
